Kingdom Economics

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.”  Matthew 10:29-31

Sparrows are easy to miss in our city of loud sea gulls and crows and pennies are becoming rare as they have gone out of production due to their lack of value. But in Jesus’ Kingdom economics, small things are worth much. If God knows about one almost valueless sparrow, how much more, will God be concerned with each person. We need eyes to see the small and hidden things: the anxieties and needs of those making a life on the streets, those in pressed suits, and everyone in between. God’s economy is not ours. Sparrows and Pennies rejoice!
